More Jamey Johnson road trips!

Hows it going, peeps? Just got back from another JJ Road trip! Jared & I travelled up to Covington Ky (or "Cincy", depending on which of us you ask) to see the man perform. It was a fantastic show. (Too bad it was a 7 hour drive) The only thing, this show seemed like maybe he was a little sad? He did predominately slower songs, with practically NO repeats from the previous 4 shows. He missed a couple lyrics, like maybe his head wasnt exactly there? Idk. Still an amazing performance. Hle coulda sang lullabyes, and Id still be hooked... At any rate, Jared and I planned to stay at a cheaper hotel, that was quickly dubbed "Stab City". The pictures online didnt do it justice. It definitely looked ever so slightly shady on the internet, but in person...wow. The doors to each room only worked one way. You had to enter the hotel through the lobby and could LEAVE through your room door, but that was it. The bathtub had, what Jared called an innovative foot bath, but really amounted to a clogged drain. Water stood in the tub for EVER after a shower. Quite gross. Jared managed to get a semi-wet pillow, and once I finally convinced him to get under the sheets, he pulled them back to reveal what could ONLY be a urine stain. LOL. He was quite disgusted.

Anyway, at the concert, we hung out with Jessica. I met her & Amy @ the Hollywood Hollow show, and had the pleasure of actually getting to know her a little better this time. Usually, I arrive just before things start, and its all a blur, where Im so focused on HIM that I cant function LOL. It was nice to be there early enough to do that (hang out, not focus obsessively). Jessica takes AMAZING pictures. Im hoping some skill will rub off on me. I had decided beforehand that THIS concert was going to be the one where I got a guitar pick. Apparently, I didnt focus the energy enough, because yet again, the person directly to the right of me got it! It was all good though, since that was Jessica. After the show, and the sweltering 900 degree heat, we went up to meet him. I asked him why did everyone to the right of me always get the pick! He made some joke about staggering up to the front and handing one off, which I dubbed as crap, since she totally deserved the pick for all the awesome pics she takes (get it? picks/pics yeah, ok, tough crowd) Then, he pulled some picks out of his pocket and let me pick one! That, btw, was WAY cooler than him giving me one on stage. He posed for a couple pics with me, signed my shirt, my boot (the left one this time) and my guitar pick. Made some embarrasing jokes, which I will not repeat on here, and I went on my way. As I was leaving, Arlis reminded me to take my purse, since I had almost left it at the previous show, in Asheville. So HA! They DO remember me! LOL.

I was so stoked after the show it took me about 2 hours to calm down. We finally went to bed, fearing the bugs and urine. Actually, I lied. When I finally hit the bed, I was OUT.

Saturday, Jared & I went to mamaw & papaws. Visited for a few hours and headed home. All in all, it was a good trip. Im not sure I could ever con Jared into going again, but once is all I needed :)

My chickens are growing like weeds! Ill take some pics tomorrow and post em for ya'll. Their hats are HUGE!!! I think thats all for now:) enjoy the pics! -k

Happy Birthday little chickies!

The chickies are 2 weeks old today! They are ADORABLE! I seriously took like 200 pictures of them.. and they pose so adorably!



I also found out some REALLY good news! My brother is gonna go to the Covington KY show with me on June 26. I hadnt gotten tickets or anything yet because I didnt have anyone to go with! Now, I do! WHOO HOOO! Its kinda like an early birthday present that I even GET to go! (thats right, Jared, its almost my birthday!) I guess I'll go ahead and head into phase 3 a few days early, so I can be on the atkins type diet for the trip. Ill probably just go through the rest of this week and stop early next week... I am so excited I'm babbling. Anyway, thats all for now! ~k

So, today, I got scolded

For not having an interesting blog anymore! I have been sorta mute lately, except of course, about Jamey Johnson, or the cute hatching chicks, but I'll try and be better!

John and I went to the pool on Saturday. At a country club. In public. I was quite proud of myself. I even wore a bathing suit without shorts. Now, that was a plus for me, but may or may not have been a plus for anyone else. And, I could care less. I was slightly self conscious initially, but quickly got over it. I did however, proceed to be so proud of myself, that I was COMPLETELY fried. My face, neck, chest, thighs (yes, folks, even INSIDE of my thighs, which havent seen the light of day in years) proceeded to get very burned. Im having pitting edema on my thighs now from the sunburn. Can we say Oops? We also visited Maxways. Have any of you ever BEEN to maxways? Im in love. I probably havent been to a maxways in 8 years or more. And I apparently had ZERO recollection for the massive number of FLIP FLOPS they keep in stock!! I got 2 pairs of the CUTEST flops ever. My favorites are giraffe print soles with yellow thongs. They were $2!!! I was so stoked. Anyway, back to the pool...most probably dont know, but since I was too young to drive, I have adamantly refused to go to a public pool because Im so weight conscious. Since Ive been doing the diet though, Ive realized who cares? Me staying at home and really WANTING to swim is only punishing ME. People who see me can get a pretty good guess at the fact that im overweight, so I'm really not proving anything. Anyway, not to drone on. Its gonna be fine. Im losing the weight and eventually this will be a non-issue. The pool would've been a great success if not for the massive sunburns that John & I are both suffering from.

Work was sooooooooooooo slow this weekend! Not sure what about THIS weekend denoted "no emergencies" but there was practically NOTHING going on. I dont think we saw more than 5 patients on any shift I worked. That equates to mind numbing boredom and lots of cleaning.
There is one "special" person I work with who is constantly grating my nerves. I fear she is socially inept, or lacks a social "edit" button, but lots of things that come out of her mouth make me want to immediately spit on her. There might be a day soon where my mouth is just so full of slobber that it comes out before I can take control over my "socially retarded people spit" button. She asked me once, in response to me telling her that I broke the toilet (the BACK of the toilet, not the toiled bowl or seat) that "arent toilets made for fat people? Cant they hold people over 250lbs?"... I was completely speechless then...luckily my mouth was dry. Anyway, this weekend, she wants to know if im still doing my "whack ass diet". I said but of course. And then I thought "shes really trying to bait me, my scrubs are now almost hanging down to my knees" She wanted to know how much id lost, then wanted to know how long it had taken. All in this snide voice. Then she informs me I should STOP the 'whack ass diet' and just do "improved" diet and exercise. 15 minutes later, she tells a story that she makes sure to get eye contact with me, and the punch line of the story of COURSE ended with some snide comment about how it sounded like the ugliest fattest girl ever. So, Yeah, whore, eventually I'll be skinny and you'll still be a bit blankety blank blank... Anyway, glad I got that off my chest! Shwew.

We have a dog staying with us for a few days. Shes planning to breed with Ruckus and produce MORE beautiful puppies. She is Max & Kistles mom. I'll add some pics so you can see how GORGEOUS they are!! Cant wait to see what P&R2 gives us! She is a big time princess gorgeous girl, with a nice deep chest and beautiful color.

My little chickies are almost 2 weeks old! They are planning to have a "hatchday" party on Wednesday! Basically, that will consist of them going outside for a little while if its warm enough. I might make em a cake.... But as it is, the bottom of their box is all caked up with who knows what... Maybe they dont NEED anymore cake?

The eggs are hatching!!

Today, we can hear pecking and peeping (only ever so slightly) and the eggs are rocking!! Of course, in my zeal, I bumped the incubator (not once, but twice)- hopefully, I didnt kill any babies!! I cant WAIT!! They are officially due tomorrow, so heres to hoping that 5 or 6 are hatched out in the morning!! The worst part of all is NOT being able to touch them!!! GRRR!! ! Pics to follow :)

The Jamey Johnson Road trip

John & I had a mini vacation, that consisted of lots of driving and LOTS of Jamey Johnson. We hit 2 concerts - first one in Nashville @ the Ryman, the 2nd in Asheville, @ the Orange Peel. The trip was great, we had a great time (Or, atleast, I DID!) and it was rather relaxing. Thoroughly enjoyed it!

My little chicks are set to hatch on Wednesday. I cant WAIT!! I'll post pictures as soon as they start. Here are some pics from our trip :)
